Voice of the Users

The detailed results of the PLM User Forum launch in Reading and Cleveland have now been published, and three clear themes have emerged that are common to both sides of the Atlantic:-

  • the need for a clear and accepted method of demonstrating the commercial impact of PLM on the business;

  • a demand for coordinated industry movement to consolidate and standardise the building blocks of PLM;

  • a desire for wider support from the vendor community, aimed at business needs and drivers as well as the IT platform.

Industry briefings have been published in 2PLM, covering:-

Action is needed now so that PLM developments are moving in 2009 when attention comes round to business performance.  And action is needed across the whole industry, with users, vendors, integrators and consultancies working in the same direction.
