        PLM Benchmark Coaching

PLM Benchmark Coaching Workshops

The PLMIG established a PLM Benchmark Coaching Workshop format for Europe and the USA in order to launch the international PLM Governance Benchmark.

Thales

The first event was hosted by Thales at Thales University, Paris on 16-17 April 2012.

It does not matter which event you attend - the Agendas are the same, and participants in either will receive the combined results of the series.  Workshop participation carries no obligation to go forward to the full Governance Benchmark.

The Coaching Workshops will give detailed insights into how the proposed Governance Benchmark will be structured and managed, but they are also valuable training events in their own right. Some companies intend to use the Coaching Workshop so that they are able to run internal benchmarks around their global sites.

Workshop Objectives

The Workshop objectives are to enable participants to adopt and use the latest benchmarking best practices in their own implementations:-

  • Present the Benchmarking methodology
  • Present the supporting tools (for Self-Assessment, and Maturity Assessment)
  • Review the impact of the PLM Governance Standard
  • Work through the practicalities of the real environment
  • Developing Metrics and ROI
  • Formulation and presentation of results

Workshop Format

The morning session on Day 1 covers all of the existing benchmarking material, and sets out the proposed methodology.   The afternoon session is fully interactive, as the delegates work together on the practical issues and problems that will need to be overcome.  On Day 2, the group works to establish a common, practical working structure, which will they will receive as a deliverable at the end of the series.
