        PLM Standardisation

PLM Standards Implementation Workshop

The PLMIG ran a PLM Standards Implementation Workshop in Munich on 22-23 February in synergy with the PLM Innovation Congress.

PLM Innovation

This enabled an unprecedented level of knowledge sharing and networking between the two events.

It was a unique opportunity to use a PLMIG Workshop to work on your own implementation issues, while still taking advantage of the social and networking benefits of a major conference.  The aim was to formulate a standards implementation framework that delegates can apply within their own companies.

  PLMIG

Synergy with the PLM Innovation Congress

The Agenda for the PLM Standards Implementation Workshop was integrated with that of the main Congress, so that Workshop participants could see the Keynotes, lunch with other delegates, sign up for the Think Tank User Groups and take in the exhibition.

These benefits were on top of the core PLMIG workshop format that continually generates new PLM knowledge for those taking part.

Workshop Objectives

The Workshop objectives were to bring together PLM practitioners and enable them to combine their experience to:-

  • Understand the current PLM standards scenario
  • Learn about the new PLM best practices generated in 2011
  • Work as a group on standardisation barriers and "quick wins"
  • Formulate a methodology to optimise standardisation in their own implementations
Workshop Format

Delegates were able to mix with the main Congress until 09:30 on both days, at which point the Workshop Agenda began.  Coffee, lunch and session times were aligned with the Congress timetable to facilitate the interfacing between the two, and Workshop delegates could rejoin the main Congress at the end of each afternoon.
