        Global PLM Standards
            2-Day Workshop

Overview

The PLMIG will host a 2-day workshop, open to everyone in the PLM industry, so that PLM professionals can meet and decide on the standards framework that should be developed for PLM. Delegates will not only have the first chance to specify the new standards, but will be actively involved in the feedback process for future meetings held later in the year.

The event will be held at the Oxford Centre,
333 Banbury Road, Oxford OX2 7PL
on Wednesday 24 March and Thursday 25 March 2010.

Oxford Centre, UK

The Workshop is based on direct input from standards organisations, user corporations, consultancies and researchers in Europe, the USA and the southern hemisphere.  The aim is to create an inclusive, collaborative environment that involves practitioners from all parts of the PLM spectrum, working with an open and international outlook.  The workshop will discuss the qualifications that can raise PLM to become a genuine profession, and will produce a roadmap for future development.

Workshop Objectives

The Workshop objectives are to bring together PLM practitioners and enable them to combine their experience to generate:-

  • An agreed view of the future standards landscape
  • Confirmation of the first standards that will be developed
  • A Roadmap for future standards approval and maintenance
Workshop Format

The PLMIG will begin by presenting the current standards scenario, after which delegates can present their own views of the types of PLM standard they feel should be developed. The format then moves to group working to address the main issues and achieve the workshop objectives.

Delegates will receive printed copies of proposed and possible standards as part of their working material. The PLMIG will write up the proceedings and produce a Version 1.0 PLM Standards Roadmap that will be delivered to participants after the meeting.
